On 1 August, I started at the department as Assistant Professor in German professional and organizational communication. I recently completed my PhD at the Department of Business Communication, Aarhus University. During my PhD, I was primarily interested in translation technology, more specifically a combination of machine translation, translation memory and terminology management. In the thesis, I explored professional translators’ interaction with this type of translation technology as well as their attitudes to the interaction. The study was conducted as a workplace study in a large Language Service Provider in Aarhus. I look forward to continuing my research within translation technology and to embark on new research projects within specialized communication.
I have a Master’s degree in international business communication (cand.ling.merc.) in German and a BA in English and German from the former Aarhus School of Business. Before commencing my PhD, I worked as a language professional at the Research Unit for General Practice at Aarhus University. During my PhD, I taught courses in the BA and MA programmes in international business communication at Aarhus University, and I look forward to starting my teaching within the German programmes, German and German International Business Communication, here at CGS. .
